A Foundation Policy Briefing Luncheon with Christine Todd Whitman

Location:
Commerce Club
34 Broad Street
Atlanta, GA 30303
Notes:
As part of the Georgia Public Policy Foundation’s Georgia Climate Change Education Project, Christine Todd Whitman, former EPA administrator and New Jersey Governor, keynotes a Policy Briefing Luncheon at noon on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at the Commerce Club in Atlanta. Governor Whitman, co-chair of the Clean and Safe Energy Coalition, explains “The Case for Clean Energy.”

Christine Todd Whitman is a highly respected leader and advisor on environmental issues affecting communities, nations and private industries. She served in the Cabinet of President George W. Bush as EPA Administrator from 2001 to 2003. Before that, she served seven years as Governor of New Jersey, the first woman elected to that position in state history.

Since 2006 she has been Co-Chair of the Clean and Safe Energy Coalition, dedicated to promoting the benefits of nuclear energy. She is also the President of the Whitman Strategy Group, a consulting firm that specializes in government relations and environmental and energy issues. She serves on the Steering Committee of The Cancer Institute of New Jersey; the Board of Trustees of the Eisenhower Fellowships; the Board of Directors of the Council on Foreign Relations; the Governing Board of the Park City Center for Public Policy and is a member of the Board of the New America Foundation. She is also an advisor to the Aspen Rodel Fellowship program.

The Clean and Safe Energy Coalition is a national grassroots coalition of more than 2,200 members that unites unlikely allies across the business, environmental, academic, consumer and labor community to support nuclear energy. The Coalition believes that nuclear energy can improve energy security, ensure clean air quality and enhance the quality of life and economic well-being of all Americans. The Coalition is led by Governor Whitman and Dr. Patrick Moore, a co-founder and former leader of Greenpeace. For more information, visit www.cleansafeenergy.org.
